"Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" vs "Battlefield: Bad Company"?

What kind of question is this? I hear you ask... Well one hears a lot in the news about computer games. I have to say anyone who knows me will know I like to indulge in some action on the fictitious stage being the Playstation 3 Network an online community of players who love to blast away at each other in some very funny ways.
Of course I know people from real life who are hugely into it, Wayne and Chris from work, for example. Thing is though they love "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" (COD4) and I can't get enough of "Battlefield: Bad Company" (B:BC) so I'm going to try and spell out the differences now.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Battlefield: Bad Company
So both have a great pedigree of programming and both are pushing the boundaries of the field of FPSs (first person shooters). COD4 has uber realism whereas B:BC has a more arcade style. COD4 has a great story line in single player mode which is like taking the player into the movie, the Battlefield series has always suffered a weak single player angle. COD4 has a great multiplayer function with loads of different game varieties, B:BC is basically a multiplayer game and not meant for the single player. Both games offer multiplayer points scoring system using which you can rank up and unlock new weapons and features. COD4 has small close maps and intense battles, B:BC has huge maps which are so big you need a vehicle to cross them. And here's where you differ, there ARE vehicles in B:BC. There are Tanks, Light Tanks, APCs, Humvees, Buggies, Boats and even Helicopters... I mean proper helicopters. And not ones you sit in and get taken to wherever you want. You have to fly it and fire the rockets and navigate and land it and avoid the bullets and rockets. And there are always two or more seats to occupy in the vehicles so you can drive and someone else could man the machine gun. And then there are the weapons. B:BC has some unlocks which are so funky, for example, you can get a hand held GPS kit which you use to dowlink your enemy's coordinates and some artillery fires to destroy them. You can get laser designator pods to shine on tanks so your mate in a helicopter can lock onto it.
There's more in COD4 the maps are solid maps; they have allowed things such as firing through walls and trees so if someone is hiding behind the wall you can still shoot them, but in B:BC the whole map is now completely destructible. So if someone's hiding behind a wall you can get in a tank, blow the wall away and expose them... brilliant!!! This is so revolutionary for weeks people would go into games and drive around destroying things. You see in games like COD and other previous versions of Battlefield the maps were like solid indestructible not matter how hard you try. But now this owes to some funny gaming! So come on everybody and give good ol' Battlefield a go!
