Cold Planes and Jazz With Beer
Good Morning!
Well I should be in work today, but I got the days off as leave. Just as well really because I feel rotten. Yep, I've got a horrible cold/verging on flu. And no it's not MAN FLU because Beccy has it too.
So I've had a crazy cycle at work all on my own... I get to call the shots... it's weird... good weird. I can't really describe how it feels it's just brilliant and such a relief.
So last night although I finished at 10pm, I got home, had a quick shower to feel a little better and then headed out to meet some work mates in town. And yeah yeah yeah I'm ill, it was Friday night and I was accused of "mincing out of it" by one of them. Nobody does that. In the end we spent the majority of the evening at the Jazz Club on Oldham Road. The band, Myke Wilson and Guests, were really cool, there was a proper Hammond Organ, a man with the fastest fingers on a fret board I think I've ever seen, another with a bass saxophone that made the coolest noise and a drummer who drummed a five minute solo in the middle of a smooth Latin number. Matt and Phreds is a proper Jazz Club with waiters and tiny tables with candles on and red walls with black and white photos on. One of which caught my attention as it was a picture taken from a chair lift in 30 feet visibility and just out of the grey glooom is the blurry image of the next chair and the one coming towards - I digress. But then I suppose I always do.
